COVID-19

Coronaviruses are a type of virus. There are many different kinds, and some cause disease. A newly identified coronavirus, Sars-CoV-2, has caused a worldwide pandemic of respiratory illness, called COvid-19.

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization. Most common symptoms- fever, dry cough, tiredness.Less common symptoms- aches and pains, sore throat, diarrhea, conjunctivitis, headache, a rash on the skin, discoloration of fingers or toes, and loss of taste or smell. Severe symptoms- difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure, loss of speech, or movement.

If COVID-19 is spreading in your community, stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue.

There is currently no licensed medication to cure COVID-19. If you have symptoms, call your health care provider or COVID-19 hotline for assistance. The majority of people infected with coronavirus experience a mild or asymptomatic disease that can be treated at home. It would help if you drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of rest.
